All Them Witches: Nashville's Psychedelic Rock Journey

All Them Witches, hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, have been a staple in the psychedelic rock scene since they formed in 2012. Their music, a blend of blues, stoner rock, and psych, has a way of grabbing you from the first riff.

The band, with members Charles Michael Parks Jr. on vocals and bass, Ben McLeod on guitar, and Robby Staebler on drums, started with their debut album "Our Mother Electricity". They've since built a reputation for their live shows and deep album cuts.

Their latest album, "Nothing as the Ideal" from 2020, was recorded at Abbey Road Studios. It's an album where the band dives into the depths of heavy, bluesy rock with tracks like "Saturnine & Iron Jaw" and "Rats in Ruin". This album showcases their ability to blend the heavy with the ethereal, creating a sound that feels both timeless and fresh.

In 2022, All Them Witches took on a unique project, releasing a song each month in what they called the "Baker's Dozen". This initiative showed their creativity and commitment to their fanbase, offering a variety of new sounds and vibes throughout the year.

Their live performances are legendary, with sets that can go from mellow blues to explosive rock, often playing entire albums in one night. The band has shared stages with legends like Primus and Mastodon, proving their place in the rock community.

All Them Witches' music feels like a trip through the backroads of Nashville, where every turn brings a new musical landscape. Their songs have a way of feeling both expansive and intimate, making you want to dive deeper into their catalog.

Around 2014, I noticed rock music starting to sound cookie-cutter, over-polished, and pop-inspired, as if it had lost its soul and become corporate and profit-driven. That led me to seek out bands with a raw, authentic rock sound, which inspired the creation of Cowboy's Juke Joint Radio.
